Freshman midfielder/forward Meredith Scott (Walden Grove HS) and sophomore goalkeeper Angelina Amparano (Salpointe Catholic HS) swept the ACCAC Player/Goalkeeper of the Week honors for the week of Oct. 3-9. Scott had a goal and two assists while Amparano had seven saves in 152 minutes logged at the net.
The Aztecs play at Cochise College on Tuesday.
Pima Community College women’s soccer players Meredith Scott (Walden Grove HS) and Angelina Amparano (Salpointe Catholic HS) earned recognition for their efforts during the week of Oct. 3-9.
- Scott, a freshman midfielder/forward, was named ACCAC Division II Player of the Week. She scored a goal in Pima’s 2-0 win at No. 10 Scottsdale Community College and provided two assists to Delaney Buntin (Cienega HS) in their 4-0 win over Yavapai College.
- Scott has played in all 12 games this season and has seven goals and five assists on the season.
- Amparano, a sophomore, was named ACCAC Division II Goalkeeper of the Week. She had seven saves in 152 minutes of play at the net.
- Amparano has logged 786 minutes and has played and started in 10 games. She has 46 saves and a saves percentage of .939. She has given up just three goals this season.
The Aztecs are now 11-1 overall and 8-1 in ACCAC conference play after beating Paradise Valley Community College 4-1 on Tuesday. They play Cochise College at the CYR Complex in Sierra Vista on Saturday at 7:00 p.m.
