Nayeli Vidal and Caitlyn Maher each score twice as Women’s Soccer beats Paradise Valley CC on Sophomore Day

The No. 3 ranked Aztecs women's soccer team earned their sixth straight win after beating Paradise Valley Community College 4-1. Nayeli Vidal and Caitlyn Maher each scored two goals. The Aztecs are now 11-1 overall and 8-1 in ACCAC conference play. Nikya Orange leaves a lasting legacy on Pima Basketball

The Aztecs go through a strict weekly regimen to stay in shape under strength and conditioning coach Carla Garrett, and Orange has a long, detailed schedule that includes lifting on Mondays and Thursdays, watching film and having long practices. All the while, she is expected to maintain high grades in the classroom. She gets the job done. Ever since joining Pima in May 2020, Orange has made an impact, averaging 8.6 points and 7,6 rebounds per game. She was also a key part in helping the Aztecs make it to the NJCAA Division II tournament last season....

An NBA check-in: the Eastern Conference edition

By JAVIER DOSAMANTESPima Post In my last NBA column, we took a look at how the Western Conference Playoffs would play out. At the time, I wanted to wait a week to get a larger sample size from the Brooklyn Nets and Philadelphia 76ers before discussing a convoluted Eastern Conference Playoff picture. However, that week turned into a month, the regular season is over and there is still no clarity on who could come out of the East. However, I’m of the unpopular opinion that we need to analyze things with nuance and perspective. And the Eastern Conference has been hard to figure out all season long. With that said, I am glad that I did not participate in the initial hyperbole that anointed the 76ers as champions after the James Harden for Ben Simmons trade happened. ...
