By JAVIER DOSAMANTES The Loft Film Fest is back for its 11th annual installment after a one-year hiatus, and The Loft's patrons are not taking it for granted. Some film festivals and cultural events blur the lines between celebrating the arts and blatant networking, but The Loft Film Fest has been a pure celebration of film. People attending all or most films stop to have pre- and post-movie impromptu critiques among themselves, take notes during movies and cheer before every showing. Loft Film Fest returns with Oscar hopefuls

The impressive lineup of national and international movies was collected from the most important festivals in the cinematic realm, including Cannes Film Festival and Sundance Film Festival. One heavy-hitter — “Parallel Mothers” — undoubtedly will be contending for Oscars in 2022. "Parallel Mothers" is the highly anticipated film by Oscar-winning Spanish director Pedro Almodóvar, and will be opening the festival on Nov. 10. The Loft Cinema’s 11th annual international film festival will run through Nov. 18. Ticket prices and availability vary.
