‘Cos’ for concern

By RENE ESCOBAR The sentencing of Bill Cosby was three to 10 years incarceration in a state prison.  That’s a slap on the wrist and a slap to the face of equal rights groups. The people of those groups should be outraged. Cosby was found guilty of sexual assault in Montgomery County, Pennsylvania, by Judge Steven O’Neill. Though the judge said it was a “serious crime,” Cosby could be released after three years. That is not enough for drugging and raping a woman. That is a federal crime, where the minimum should be a 15-year sentence. A first-degree offense should be a possible 25-year to life sentence. As Major League Baseball writes its final chapters of the 2018 season there remains one unknown the World Series champions. That remains undetermined for the moment. With the pennant set, 10 teams have an opportunity. Alas only one can claim the trophy. The one team in this year's playoff has never risen a Commissioner's Trophy, and this fall the Milwaukee Brewers will raise their first ever World Series Championship. By Rene Escobar The Hall of Fame, the pinnacle of the sports world is a testament to the legacies of athletes. Displayed in museums around the country, the stars of the past are immortalized and viewed by fans. None are bigger than the National Football League Hall of Fame. Every summer, the Hall of Fame induction ceremony draws a national audience with its annual game to kick off the preseason. It generates millions of dollars in revenue for the museum and more for the NFL. Lately some hall of famers have requested that some of that revenue be put into a hall of fame salary and an insurance for life fund. Although the members of the hall of fame are in the right for requesting something such as insurance for life, should be considered by the multi-billion-dollar company of the NFL....
